Saturday Update...Sunny and Crisp.

Saturday, December 23rd (9:15am)- It is currently -18C, warming up to a balmy -15C, bundle up, with clear sky and the sun is finally showing herself in her full glory! Yeah ! Trails were groomed this morning by the big groomer and believe it or not a few skiers are here already testing the conditions. I will update conditions as skiers return. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Upper Landsom is closed temporarily until further notice as a tree is down at the base of the trail creating a dangerous situation for any unwary skier. The lodge is warming up beautifully with the fire blazing and I encourage you to stop by and stay awhile once you have skied, or take a break and head back out there!! . . . As a side

All is back to normal now and the fire in the lodge is awaiting its first happy skiers! Welcome Locals & Visitors for a great day of winter

Volunteers Needed for the Kootenay Cup, Jan. 13-14th.

The annual Kootenay Cup is coming up in January,. It is one of the key events of the season at Kimberley Nordic. Plans are well under way for another great event this year. Last year we hosted more than 150 racers from across the area. We expect a big turnout again this year. We are now looking for volunteers to help us run this great event. Course marshals, parking attendants, timing staff, lots of positions to fill. If you would like to help out or if you have any questions about positions available, please contact Jean MacDonald at jeanmacd439@gmail.com. Thank you in advance for your interest. Kootenay Cup Organizing Committee.

Snow on the Way...

We have had some spectacular weather for skiing over the past week and a half. Lots of sunshine and clear skies. These a couple of pictures taken when the sun was at it's best. Thanks Yvonne Ackerman. Now, we have lots of snow on the way...quite a bit maybe, perhaps up 20 plus cm. The groomers will be out in full force over the next couple of days doing their best to pack the new snow down. Sometimes the tracks are a little soft for the first while after heavy snowfalls. We will see how much comes. More snow is always good. Check the Live Grooming Reports and the Kiosk Staff Updates for the latest conditions. Enjoy it...get out there skiing.

See you out there...

Weekend Update...was a little slow...sorry...Skiing has Been GREAT this week.

Sorry folks, we have had some technical (internet stuff) difficulties this week. The Live Grooming Reports app went down, even though grooming was still going on and the reports of more new snow did not get out. Most things are now up and running and reporting again. KNC received snow several times this week, even though none was in the forecast. We don't know where it came from...but we are glad we got it. Both Masters sessions, Tuesday (classic) and Thursday (skate) had great snow conditions and new grooming both days. Lots of regulars and also new Masters out skiing. We now have some of the best cross country skiing in the valley. One or two bare spots up top (K1-K2) but mid-winter cond

Jackrabbit Program Kicked Off this Past Weekend.

Our Jackrabbit youth ski program kicked off this past weekend at KNC. There was a couple of weeks of coaching courses, ski rental distribution and much hard work organizing by Dan Clark and other volunteers. We are excited to have a large group of new certified coaches who have stepped up to help get us through the season and give local kids some great opportunities to have fun and learn cross country ski skills. Pictures of the weekend Coaching Course, classroom and on snow too. If you have children in our program please offer to lend a hand. Volunteer effort is what makes this program so great and allows us to keep registration fees low. This year we have more than 50 kids in our Jackrabbi
