Junior Adventure Ski: Ages 9-11

 

About: This program is for youth from age 9-11 with a sense of adventure, looking to explore nordic skiing and winter fun in a variety of ways both front and backcountry. Developing and building on skills and embracing being ‘Active for Life’ in line with the Long Term Athlete Development Model. The goal of this program is to further confidence on the Nordic trails and to create lifelong enjoyment of winter recreation.  

 

Requirements: Prior nordic skiing experience is an asset though not a requirement.

 

When we meet: 
Dates: Tuesdays, January 5th - March 9th
Times: 5:00-6:30pm*
 
*Longer adventure days will occur throughout the season, parents will be notified beforehand

via email.  
 

Cost:

• Program Cost: $125

• Ski Rentals: $200 (classic and skate equipment)
  *Note: KNC membership not included with program registration

• Need help paying? Apply for a grant through KidSport Canada​, Athletics 4 Kids, or Jumpstart

 

Registration: August 22nd, 2026 at 10:00am (ongoing)

 

Additional Information: 

• KNC membership card must must be shown to Welcome Centre attendants when entering the Nordic Club

• Kids should be on their skis and ready to go at scheduled times

• All coaches are volunteers. All monies generated from registration, rentals, and fundraising are used directly for this program

• Rental gear distribution takes place in late November

• All Adventure Ski participants and parents must sign the Code of Conduct before the start of the program

• We will run the program indoors if it is -20 C and below
