The trail network at the Kimberley Nordic Club is an important community resource that provides year-round recreational opportunities to thousands of people. The Kimberley Nordic Club is looking to hire keen, hard-working people to work as part of our summer 2024 trail crew.

KNC is looking for trail crew members who are:
● Hard working, enthusiastic and looking to spend the summer outdoors
● Willing to work collaboratively and have a flexible mindset
● Interested in learning about safe tool use, trail work and facilities maintenance
● Avid trail users (Nordic skiers, hikers, trail runners, cyclists, etc)
● Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised

The position will include:
● Working with KNC trail crew on trail maintenance projects including brushing, chipping, surface grading, resurfacing, and signage
● Evaluating invasive species for treatment operations
● Strategic projects in the stadium including reconfiguration, drainage, fencing, signage, and wood chip application
● Summer maintenance projects around the lodge, kiosk, wax hut, and garage

Qualifications:
● Valid first aid certificate (preferred)
● Certified wood chipper operator (training provided)
● Certified chainsaw/brush saw operator (training provided)
● Valid class 5 driver’s license
● Able to work independently with minimal supervision
● Able to lift up to 50lbs

Schedule: These positions will start in late May.

While there is some flexibility, successful applicants will be required to work approximately 24 hours per week for a period of 12 weeks.

Remuneration:
● Trail Crew Supervisor (1): $21.00 per hour
● Trail Crew (2): $18.00 per hour.

Trail Crew members will report to the Trail Crew Supervisor. The Trail Crew Supervisor will report directly to the General Manager.
